It aims to answer the questions of how Dutch urban migrants integrate into rural Dutch communities, what the difference in perceptions of, and ideals for the future are between the two groups are, and how those differences might affect the process of social integration. It uses previous literature on the same subject in a different research location to construct a conceptual model of integration and using in-depth interviews attempts to test it against existing literature to identify differences, similarities or recent changes. This research concludes that due to the influences of technological and social advancements on the social structure of rural villages in the last few decades, dissimilarities between the two groups have become increasingly uncommon, and that therefore the process of integration is considerably faster in modern times than it was in the decades before. date: 2021 pages: 49 thesis_type: bachelor degree_programme: SGP tutors_name: Boumans, B.M. tutors_organization: Fac.
