An innovative transportation strategy that\r\nenables users to gain quick access to transportation when required, Shared vehicles are becoming \r\nincreasingly visible in Dutch cities. The market for shared mobility has a lot of potentials to address \r\nseveral sustainability challenges in regions such as Groningen and Assen. Both municipalities are in an \r\nearly phase of large-scale shared mobility development. This research aims to investigate the influences \r\nof shared mobility on the accessibility of citizens of Groningen and Assen. Three domains of shared \r\nmobility have been investigated. This research discusses the central question: ’ How does the availability \r\nof shared mobility opportunities influence the accessibility of citizens of Groningen and Assen?’\r\nThe results have shown that shared mobility covers a complex and dynamic arena of providers, vehicles, \r\nand operating schemes. The availability in Groningen is sizable and Assen is small. The business models \r\nof the shared modes do not offer options for traveling between the cities Groningen and Assen. Most \r\nvehicles are located around the city centers and therefore less accessible for citizens that live in the \r\noutskirts of the municipality. Shared vehicles are rolled out before policy is developed. Groningen has \r\nadjusted its policy and can regulate the market. Years of facilitating policy have led to growth in shared \r\nvehicles in Groningen. The questionnaire shows that people use shared vehicles to enhance mobility. \r\nThe vast majority of the residents experience the vehicles as a good addition to the environment, but \r\nfind it to a lesser extent important as part of their accessibility In addition, residents do not travel more \r\nfrequently due to the presence of shared vehicles. Repeating this research with a larger sample size after \r\nthe COVID-19 measures can provide deeper insights into the importance of the vehicles."^^ . "2021" . . . . . . . "Pablo"^^ . "Locadia"^^ .
