"As impact assessment is becoming more important within the decision-making process of development projects, the importance of that assessment for vulnerable groups is laid bare. This research aims to find out how vulnerable groups could potentially benefit from social impact assessment and health impact assessment in development projects, by using a development project,\r\nRuimte voor Jou, in the city of Groningen as an example. To do so, two interviews with expert stakeholders on the project were conducted and a survey was done among vulnerable groups. The main results suggested that vulnerable groups can in fact benefit from social impact assessment and health impact assessment in development projects, to a certain degree. This can be achieved if decision-makers focus on providing solutions for problems that vulnerable groups may encounter because of a development project and if they actively engage with these groups."^^ .
