Through the capability approach, the aim of this article is to explore the perceived barriers university students experience on their mental health and well-being, but also how this can be restored through the accessibility and diversity of therapeutic landscapes. The study incorporates in-depth interviews, maptionnaires and walking interviews with in-situ photographs to establish intricate place-based narratives. Based on the results, accessibility to diverse landscapes is not only from the perspective of actual distance, but also from the ability of therapeutic mobility and can also be enhanced through sitting areas. Moreover, therapeutic landscapes also enable restorative time through various passive and active interactions that overall also strengthens the individual’s sense of place. The paper also concludes with implications for mixed-method and longitudinal research and incorporating the capability approach along with therapeutic landscapes in future planning practices. date: 2022 type: Thesis type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: en identifier: https://frw.studenttheses.ub.rug.nl/3871/1/BachelorProject_KharismaPanduPratamaS3925579_FinalVersion.pdf identifier: Pandu Pratama, Kharisma (2022) Accessibility to a Diversity of Therapeutic Landscapes & the Restoration of University Students Mental Health in Groningen: A Qualitative Geo-Narrative Study.
