As there is already quite some research on physical wellbeing, this thesis will mostly focus on subjective wellbeing. Literature on this topic suggests that the geographical proximity of children and the life-space of a person are important factors when deciding on a location of care With means of qualitative method, eight elderly people who are either widowed or separated are interviewed by means of in-depth semi-structured interviews. The results suggest that factors that matter for elderly people when deciding on a location of care are: feeling safe (regarding care), a sense of belonging, the roots of a person and the life-space of a person. date: 2022 pages: 21 thesis_type: bachelor degree_programme: SGP tutors_name: Ballas, D. tutors_organization: Fac.
