However, in practice, this potential remains theoretical, as solar PV development in the region is low. In line with the worlds quest for establishing renewable energy sources in a global spatial-responsible way, solar PV development in this region could be valuable. How is it possible that there is little to no development of solar PV in this region? This research aims to uncover what conditions influence the development of solar PV in North-Africa. Literature and data is being used in order to establish these conditions. After this, the conditions are tested in a case study against a country from the North-African region. It turns out that the established conditions are indeed responsible for the low solar PV development in the region.
