abstract: In Indonesia, research has been conducted to investigate the influence of socioeconomic status on a couple's fertility outcome. However, the focus of this research has primarily been reducing fertility rates to replacement levels or below without considering the importance of reproductive justice and a couple's desire for children. It is essential to recognise that a couple's fertility aspirations are shaped by various factors, including their personal circumstances, values, and aspirations.
