Following distance decay principles, farther things would be less affected leading to the hypothesis that the farther student housings would have less SoC. The research is conducted with a mixed method approach that shows statistically insignificant results and a reverse trend of SoC, but revealing important themes in the qualitative aspect. It is found that proximity does not have a great effect on SoC, but propinquity which incorporates time to proximity affects the building of socialisation, which can lead to building SoC. Proximity also distorts views of accessibility through additional external factors that are considered when things are farther.} }
