N2  - This study will focus on the perceptions of neighborhood associations and urban experts regarding the current state of green spaces in Madrid Norte and their expectations for the new green infrastructure developments within the Madrid Nuevo Norte (MNN) urban regeneration project. The study aims to understand the extent to which residents and stakeholders feel their input influences the design and implementation of green spaces, the role of the public in shaping sustainable green areas, and the anticipated impact of additional green spaces on the overall quality of life. Using a qualitative research approach, data was collected through semi-structured interviews with three neighborhood association representatives and five urban planning experts, as well as on-site observations and photographic documentation of existing green spaces. The findings reveal that while public participation has been integrated into the planning process, it remains limited and often superficial. Both experts and residents emphasize the need for more meaningful and continuous engagement to ensure the green spaces meet community needs and enhance environmental quality. The study concludes that the successful implementation of green infrastructure in MNN requires a collaborative approach that prioritizes inclusivity and sustainability, ultimately contributing to the social, economic, and environmental well-being of Madrid's residents.
