Rodhouse %L theses_frw524 %X In international law, increasingly, pressure is being put on corporations to adhere to international human rights standards. At the same time Indigenous peoples’ rights have become incorporated in binding and non-binding international legal instruments. The major concern for corporations revolves around what these two developments imply for the way they do business, as over the past few decades these corporations have increasingly been encountering Indigenous peoples in their business activities. The main research question this thesis intends to answer is: How do international norms and expectations about Indigenous peoples’ rights influence corporations? This question is via a case study of Royal Dutch Shell. %D 2015
