R., title: Place Identity in neighbourhoods in Enschede ispublished: pub full_text_status: public abstract: The neighbourhood as term is interpretable in multiple ways. Residents of a neighbourhood seem to experience the neighbourhood very different from how the neighbourhood officially is administered. This may have consequences for professionals who often work within the administered boundaries of a neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is a place where reidents develop a place identity. The place identity of residents of Enschede consist of four indicators: The sense of 'feeling at home', the process of identity-making, change, and meaninfull experiences. The identity-making process is steered by 'others', which are used as positive or negative influencers for the identity of the self. Changes in (for example) these 'others' may lead to a change in place identity. Moreover, meaningful experiences may also lead to changes in place identity. Meaningful experiences occur in different stages of life. All these four factors together determine a person's place identity. Identity and 'othering' processes are most influential herein. date: 2019 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: CG tutors_name: Stoffelen, H.J.W. keywords_local: Othering keywords_local: Place Identity keywords_local: Perspectives keywords_local: The neighbourhood keywords_local: Enschede language_iso: en titleorder: Place Identity in neighbourhoods in Enschede dbi: 5d4a819cb0899 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/CG/2019/rvos/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132455-5d4a819cb0899.xml date_issued: 2019-01-01 citation: Vos.
