title: Happiness in Friesland, the influence of different capitals on subjective happiness

description: In Friesland, accumulated economic, spatial, social and personal capitals have a unique effect on happiness, but there are differences in how strong every capital his effect is compared with the rest of the Netherlands. Economic capital is less important than social capital, in contradiction with national results. Because of the Frisian Paradox, (which is the fact that Frisians are happier while having lower economic capital) this difference in the importance of economic capital is logical. On average, Frisians are happier than people in the rest of the Netherlands because they have a lower average and less difference in levels of economic capital, which gives less shame to talk about low  income related problems. Frisians also have more benefits of natural amenities like the abundance of water which works like an anti-depressant. Frisians also have a higher level of social cohesion, where people trust each other and have strong local relationships.
