Every 6 girls out of 10 are the victim of child marriage, more than one fifth of adolescent girls undergo their first birth before fifteen, nearly two thirds before eighteen and 80% by twenty years of age. Considering this reality the objective of this research is to investigate how and to what extent the utilization of pregnancy related services could be associated with age at first marriage. Secondary data from Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS), 2011 has been used. Every one year increase of age at first marriage increases the institutional delivery by 5.4% and PNC utilization by 4.1%. But it has no significant effect with ANC service utilization. Current age is positively associated with place of delivery and ANC service utilization but not with PNC. date: 2013 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: POPST tutors_name: Dr. Eva Kibele, keywords_local: Bangladesh keywords_local: Age at first marriage keywords_local: Child marriage keywords_local: ANC keywords_local: PNC language_iso: en titleorder: Age at first marriage and other socio-economic factors associated with pregnancy related service utilization: evidence of Bangladesh dbi: 521f572a0ebdd imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/PopSt/2013/mBillah/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132454-521f572a0ebdd.xml date_issued: 2013-01-01 description_company: Department of Spatial Science citation: Billah, Masuma (2013) Age at first marriage and other socio-economic factors associated with pregnancy related service utilization: evidence of Bangladesh.
