This study aims to use the capability approach as a heuristic tool to explore the role of everyday technology in later life capabilities. A qualitative methodology was used to interview 16 community-dwelling older adults that were participating in cognitive stimulation activities in Barcelona. Results show that older adults living with cognitive impairment evaluate their own capacities and opportunities and execute their agency to manage hardships and to benefit from what technological resources can offer. Older adults strived to simplify technology use and sought social support from ?technology experts? to adopt new devices. Motivation and openness to learning new things played a key role in the use of technology in the context of cognitive impairments and it was seen as a strategy for coping with cognitive decline.} }
