Abstract
Sustainable development is a current concept. A lot of actors, such as governments and citizens, have already taken some initiatives. However, in suburbs there are less local sustainability initiatives compared to central cities and rural municipalities, despite the higher level of education and the greater financial capacity. All actors have to make a contribution to sustainable initiatives. Therefore, it is important to examine how municipalities could stimulate local sustainability initiatives among citizens of suburbs.
