Abstract
The masterthesis consists of 119 researched raplyrics made by 55 different hiphopbands (both rural and urban). The songtexts are researched on representations that they construct and communicate about urban and rural landscapes and life in the Netherlands. Also, the thesis reflects on the possible copying behaviour rural youths can have regarding urban lifestyles
