Abstract

For the past two years, the world has been captivated and still has been by the Covid-19 pandemic. This research focusses on the impact of the pandemic on the Netherlands. Like the rest of the world, the pandemic has a massive impact on the Dutch society. To be more specific, this research looks at the impact that the pandemic has on students. The first goal is to examine the concept of the student community and the important factors that play a role in study quality. Secondly, how the covid-19 pandemic affects these factors will be examined. The main research question is formulated as follows: What role do educational spaces at the Zernike Campus play in the student community of Groningen, and how is the perception of this role affected by the Corona crisis? Through conducting walking interviews and the exploration of existing literature, this research tries to get to an answer to this question. The most important outcomes are that educational spaces provide opportunities that have a positive influence on study and social parts of studying.
