Abstract
This thesis discusses the office space vacancy in the city of Groningen and discusses the role and impact of the financial crisis on office space vacancy and if vacancy did increase after the onset of the financial crisis. This thesis provides an analysis of the developments that occurred in the office space market in the Netherlands and Groningen after the onset of the financial crisis and provides a comparison between these developments in Groningen and other urban areas, which is done through analysing literature, market research reports and secondary data.
